Review
Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers

Pros

• All the zombies you can kill

Cons

• Repetitive action
• Poorly designed boss battles
• Weak controls
• Hugely wasted potential

Bottom Line

A cute gimmick is not enough to save this cookie-cutter zombie slasher.

Reviews

"So here's the deal. You get to slash your way through a city full of zombies to save the world while playing as your favorite fetish fantasy girl (cowgirl bikini model or Japanese schoolgirl; take your pick). On the surface, this could easily be a campy, tongue-in-cheek adventure that does for video games what Snakes on a Plane did for movies, right?

The problem is this game was executed so poorly that even the above premise loses its lustre very quickly. The zombies never get any more difficult. The sound, graphics and animations are all sub-par. The boss battles run the gamut from "insultingly easy" to "maddeningly frustrating" to "just plain dumb." The story makes no sense, but let's be honest here; if you picked up a game called "Bikini Zombie Slayers" expecting Shakespeare, you deserve to waste your money.

If you're looking for an endless wall of zombies and some passable digital eye candy, make this a rental only. Otherwise, enjoy the box art, pour yourself a glass of whiskey and have a moment of silence for the lost potential this game once had.
