Review
Overlord II

Pros

• Multiple mistresses
• Domination/Destruction alignment system
• More upgrades
• Mounts for your minions
• Funny characters and situations
• Satisfying destruction

Cons

• Missions are over-long
• Sporadic mission and story guidance
• Could really use a Town Portal spell
• Camera can get really wild

Bottom Line

Still a little flawed, but worth checking out. Especially if you want to be evil in your games.

Reviews

"Overlord I felt like what would happen if Dungeon Keeper mated with Pikmin. It was an under-hyped, often under-rated action and strategy game. It had its problems, but on the whole it was well worth the ride once you stuck with it. The same could be said of Overlord II.

Overlord II offers quite a few improvements and new features to toy with, like the choice to enslave or destroy everyone in your path. There are new powers, such as the ability to possess your minions, and the game has all the hilarity that made the first game so much fun. I love how it presents an elf as a hippie activist. Unfortunately other problems still crop up: the camera control system can be awfully wild, and missions are long and often without enough story guidance. However, there's still lots of satisfaction to sweeping into a village with your gibbering forces, smashing all their stuff and possessing the minds of everyone in reach.

Like I, Overlord II is a gem, but it needs a few rough edges polished off."
