Bottom Line
The series finally gets into the groove we knew it was capable of. |
"I love the original Trauma Center for the DS, but like anyone who wasn't born with six hands, I thought the game was too frickin' hard. Now that Atlus has added different difficulty levels, the game is a lot more palatable. In fact, with just a few reservations, I think this is exactly where the game should be.
That one reservation is the story, which although intriguing, means there's a novel's worth of dialogue sandwiched in between every operation. Somebody sic an editor on the writer, stat. However, I've got to praise the originality and choice of these operations. You'll be doing organ transplants and because the early stage of the game takes place in a war-torn creature, you'll get to yank a bullet out of someone.
The controls are tight and the game has reached a the level of fun and challenge I hoped: you have to scramble during some of those operations, but it doesn't constantly feel like a moment's hesitation or a mistake will cost you everything. I look forward to more installments of this fine series."
