Trophies for all
Sony appreciates all you PS3 gamers so much that they want to make sure you get some trophies for your trouble. Sony has declared that as of January 1st 2009, any PlayStation 3 title submitted to them must support trophies. Currently, Sony leaves the decision up to the game’s publisher, but not anymore. Games like Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and now GTAIV have actually gone back and added trophies after most gamers had already played through them once. Now you’ll have peace of mind knowing you won’t have to play through games a second time just for trophies you should have earned the first. Sony PS3 | Toggle Comments (1) |

Princes of Persia

Some day my Prince will come, with downloadable content. Ubisoft has revealed that the new Prince Of Persia game will be getting downloadable content, so the adventure won’t end when you beat the game. Little is known at this point, but we’re told they’re coming soon. One thing we do know however, you’ll be able to unlock Altair from Assassin’s Creed as a playable character in the game. To do so, make sure you pre-order the game from Ubisoft.com. This will be Altair’s second cameo appearance in another game series, the first being Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots. Prince Of Persia is out early next month. Prince of Persia | Toggle Comments (0) Your Comment:Login to post comments. |

It looks like we can close the books on the long saga that was Tabula Rasa. NCsoft has announced that it will cease live service of the failed MMO on February 28th of next year. This comes on the heels of another round of lay-offs for the company, with Richard Garriott himself leaving last month. Tabula Rasa launched late last year to lackluster reviews, after spending almost a decade in development. Tabula Rasa | Toggle Comments (0) Your Comment:Login to post comments. |

Midway vs NYSE Universe
The good people at Midway have taken another big hit. Despite the recent release of Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe, the company’s stock has fallen below a dollar a share, prompting the New York Stock Exchange to threaten de-listing. With recent lay-offs, cancelled projects, and a general loss of influence in the industry, it hasn’t been a good last few years for Midway. Let’s hope they get back on their feet and return to their former glory. Midway | Toggle Comments (0) Your Comment:Login to post comments. |

And there’s some more reading material on the way for video game fans. The Collector’s Edition of the upcoming House Of The Dead: Overkill will contain a special edition graphic novel. Captain Marvel
It's hard to keep track of all the cool superhero movies that are coming, but here's another one to look out for. The Captain Marvel film will be helmed by Get Smart! director Peter Segal. The movie is based on the DC Comics series of the same name, that’s right, DC. Not Marvel, DC. The script for the film has been written by John August, who also penned Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. And if you can’t wait until the movie comes out, Captain Marvel recently made an appearance on the roster of Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe. Toggle Comments (0) Your Comment:Login to post comments. |

Bourne Again
We’re going to be seeing a lot more Jason Bourne. Universal Pictures has signed a deal with Robert Ludlum’s estate for exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character. This means they can start creating original stories with the character that aren’t based on any Ludlum books, just like the James Bond series has been doing for the last thirty years. And make sure you keep an eye for the Blu-Ray box set of all three Bourne films out in January. Universal Pictures | Toggle Comments (0) Your Comment:Login to post comments. |

We’ve got some bad news for all of you who watch Heroes on you PVR. Series Creator Tim Kring has said that personal video recorders are to blame for the declining popularity of the show. Kring has said that the serialized style of story telling used in Heroes is quote “a very flawed way of telling stories on network television right now, because of the advent of the DVR and online streaming.” DVR or not, Heroes has been facing declining ratings and criticism of the new direction the show has taken in it’s third season. JK Rowling may not be able to really start a school for wizards, but she’s found another way to help out. The Harry Potter author has donated $30 million to the Children’s High Level Group, an organization that supports orphaned kids in Eastern Europe. Proceeds for the charity were raised from auctions of hand-signed copies of JK Rowling’s latest book, The Tales Of Beedle The Bard, which goes into wide publication next month. Turn it off
I didn’t think I would ever say these words, but turn off your game console. A recent report by the US Natural Resources Defense Council says that leaving your console on when you’re not using it is a wasteful power drain. The council also called upon console manufacturers to make game systems that are more energy efficient.
