Thanks to the help of fans, the new adventure game from Double Fine Productions is getting a little better. The point-and-click throwback is being funded through the Kickstarter program, where fans who want to play it can help pay for its development. Double Fine had hoped to raise $400,000, and it already has more than $1.8 million.
Thanks to the extra dough, founder Tim Schafer has announced that the game will get some extra features, including actual dialogue from voice actors instead of on-screen text. It’ll also be localized in French, Italian, German and Spanish, and will be released on multiple platforms: PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and some Android-powered devices.
Anyone who donates will get access to a closed beta test closer to the game’s release, so follow the link below if you’re interested. There’s still no word on what Double Fine Adventure is actually about, but expect those details soon.
