Apple hopes to revolutionize the world of education with iBooks Textbooks.
It’s a new feature for the iPad that allows schools to purchase and download textbooks on the device. Apple predicts that buying an iPad for each student will actually be cheaper than purchasing bulky new books, and the digital textbooks can be updated and revised as needed.
Apple is also introducing iBooks Author, a new application where users can create their own textbooks, and new educational features have been added to the existing iBooks Store. Let’s just hope students actually use their iPads for studying, and not just playing Angry Birds.
