The highly-anticipated downloadable game Retro City Rampage is hitting the streets this May, and we’ve learned that on top of the previously announced Wii and Xbox 360 versions, the game is also coming to the PS3, the PlayStation Vita, and the PC via Steam.
Retro City Rampage is billed as Grand Theft Auto meets Super Mario Bros, mixing open-world violence and mayhem with old school graphics. Players will be able to jump on people for coins like Mario stomps Goombas, and then steal their cars. There are 50 story missions, 30 arcade challenges, 40 different vehicles, and 25 unique weapons. Players will also be treated to crossover appearances by other gaming icons, including an 8-bit version of ‘Splosion Man.
What’s the best crossover in Retro City Rampage? The hosts of your two favourite TV shows, Electric Playground and Reviews on the Run, will all be special playable characters.
We’ll have plenty more on Retro City Rampage before May rolls around, and you can also learn more by checking out the game’s development blog.
